Cute, Creative Etsy Store!

I recently ordered something from A Sewcial Life, a great new Etsy store with lots of creative, well made items to browse through. Check out my review below, and then go check out the store!

So, a while back I was looking for a new pencil case to replace the pencil box I got from Target, since it was falling apart. I knew that my friend Carly had recently opened her Etsy store, so I thought I'd give it a try! I ordered one of her clutches, and it arrived within two days!

The quality of the clutch is amazing, you can tell its made with great fabrics, and a zipper that will last. Not to mention the colours are adorable!

Carly also makes handmade cards and buttons, which I also received, pictured below.

Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting Carly's shop, and ordering one of her hand made delights. I always love supporting small businesses, and this is a great chance to do so.

Until next time,

Fashion Blog Favourites: March!

Spring is in the air, and so is Spring fashion! I have been posting almost exclusively about how excited I am for Spring these past few weeks, it seems. So, here's a peak at who has been inspiring me at the beginning of this delightful season!

To Vogue or Bust

Although I've never mentioned her in a Fashion Blog Favourites here before, I am a long time fan of To Vogue or Bust. I've been following her posts avidly since I first started fashion blogging back in summer 2013, and she never disappoints. I've really been loving the posts lately since they have been showcasing Vancouver's amazing spring time scene - so many cherry blossoms! If you're looking for some spring-speration, you need to check out this blog.

Charli Marie

Though this is a recent discovery for me, it is absolutely my new favourite. I found Charli through her Youtube channel, but she has a stunning blog as well! I'm always amazed by her beautiful posts, and entertaining videos. She has a really amazing sense of fashion, and a cool personality as well. If you don't follow both her Youtube channel and blog, you're missing out.

Gal Meets Glam

Gal Meets Glam is another long time favourite, but has really stood out to me this past month. By my observation, Julia has been doing some traveling lately, and her photos have been absolutely stunning. The fashion and locations showcased in these posts have made me even more excited for summer than I already was. If you love feminine fashion, and beautiful photography, then Gal Meets Glam is definitely the blog for you!

Those are all of my fashion blog favourites for the month, I hope this gave you some more inspiration and insight into the blogger world! Let me know in the comments what blogs you have been loving this month.

Until next time,

Ten Step Rice and Beans Recipe!

Cheap, Easy & Tasty Lunch!

When I was home for reading week, I finally got to cook for myself again! (I know, I'm so hard done by). But anyway, in my excitement I tried out this little bit of a recipe, and I thought I would share it with you.

Ingredients

1. Kidney Beans
2. Minced Garlic
3. Onion
4. Cabbage
4. Vegetable Oil
5. Water & Spices of your choice

1. Heat oil in a sauce pan on medium to high heat.

2. Chop onions. One small onion will probably suffice, but you can use your judgement for this.

3. Chop cabbage- again use your judgement.

4. Measure out minced garlic. Add garlic, onion and cabbage to the oil and sear it all together.

5. Add rice and appropriate amount of water to the mixture in the saucepan, boil for 20 minutes to cook the rice.

6. At this point, you might want to add some spices of your choice. This is kind of cheating, but I like to add some of this Mrs Dash. Its a cheap and easy way to add flavour.

7. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the rice absorbs the water.

8. Once the rice finished cooking,  turn the heat to low and add your beans (just to heat them up). Then, add some Cayenne pepper for a bit of kick.

9. Mix it all together!

10. C'est fini!

Apps You Should Be Using!

Recently I've been using my phone probably more often than I should... but I have discovered some great apps! So, here are my top picks for what apps you need to be using, now!

Goodreads

I absolutely love the Goodreads app. To be honest, I started using the Goodreads website, and then stopped because I found it so unintuitive! But then I tried out the app, and I fell in love. It's so easy to use, so much that I actually want to go on and update my progress on books, and see what other people are reading. It's really fun to use, and one of the best features I enjoy is the scan. You can scan the ISPN code on your books and log them into one of your shelves. It's so convenient.

Polyvore

Polyvore is another case where I enjoy using the mobile app more than the website- which is so weird for me! In general, I don't like using my phone for much, because there is so much more you can on your laptop, web wise, and design wise. Either way, I love the Polyvore app, and it's great for putting together outfits when you have inspiration on the go, or if you see something in a magazine, you can look it up and add it to your items to remember it for later!

Bloglovin'

I also love the Bloglovin' app! I won't say its better than the website, but it is certainly just as good. I love being able to check out my favourite blogs on the go! If you're interested, you can always follow me on Bloglovin' as well.. ;)

I hope you found this post helpful, I know I always love finding out new apps to waste time on! Let me know what your favourite apps are!
